About Mark Buchert, DVM
Mark Buchert was born and raised in Metairie, LA. His grandfather had a small horse boarding stable on the levee of Lake Pontchartrain. This is where his love for horses and veterinary medicine started.
After attending LSU for undergraduate and veterinary school, Mark did an equine sports medicine and surgery internship at Austin Equine Associates. From here, he went on to do dual breeding seasons for 2 years at an embryo transfer facility in Louisiana and assistant stud Veterinarian in Matamata, New Zealand. Afterwards, Mark practiced in Aiken, SC for a couple years before returning to Louisiana.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys riding his homebred Dutch warmblood filly, Georgie, and trail-running with his “foster fail” boxer, Dudley. He also has a miniature Jersey cow named Molly, and an Oldenburg broodmare named Legs.
